Dr. Pavan Kommineni, an accomplished orthopedic surgeon, began his academic journey at Andhra Medical College, King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam, completing his M.B.B.S degree from 2006 to 2012. He continued his education at Guntur Medical College and Government General Hospital, completing his MS in Orthopaedics from 2013 to 2016. Afterwards, he devoted a year to service at the Government General Hospital in Guntur and collaborated with the esteemed Orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Y. Sita Ramanjaneyulu, who holds an MS in Ortho from AIIMS. Driven by a passion for teaching, he served as a Senior Resident at JIPMER in Pondicherry for two years.
At JIPMER, Dr. Kommineni developed a keen interest in deformity correction and managing complications related to fractures and joint replacements. This interest led him to further training under Dr. Mangal Parihar, a renowned orthopaedic surgeon in limb reconstruction, at the Centre for Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction (CLLR) in Mumbai. Here, he gained expertise in limb reconstruction, lengthening, and knee osteotomies, focusing on DFO and HTO procedures for knee osteoarthritis treatment.
Committed to medical education, Dr. Kommineni assumed the role of an assistant professor at a medical college, imparting his orthopaedic knowledge to future medical professionals. With seven years of training and extensive experience, Dr. Kommineni is proficient in various orthopaedic surgeries, including bone fracture fixation, joint replacements, and ligament injury treatments. He specializes in knee joint preservation, offering alternative osteoarthritis treatments like High Tibial Osteotomy, Distal Femur Osteotomy, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), and stem cell therapies. Additionally, he excels in addressing fracture complications, particularly infections and non-unions. Dr. Kommineni has made substantial contributions to orthopedics, delivering webinars and participating as a faculty member in orthopedic training workshops. His expertise extends to the Ilizarov method and advanced deformity correction, employing computer-based six-axis devices to enhance patient care and surgical outcomes.
